Our Georgian alphabet jewelry collection was born in the Atelier Paskunji in Tbilisi, Georgia. Our lead designer, Mamuka Natchkebia, who is from Georgia and based in Tbilisi, designed this boomerang-inspired font. We loved his font design so much that it is now copyrighted as “Paskunji”. Each piece of jewelry was meticulously handmade to the highest standards and gold plated in white or yellow gold.

The oldest Georgian inscriptions that have been discovered date back to AD 430 and AD 532 and are known as the Bir el Qutt inscriptions, written in the original Georgian script called Asomtavruli. Before then, the main written language used in Georgia was a form of Aramaic known as Armazuli (არმაზული დამწერლობა).

The Mkhedruli alphabet (მხედრული) is the alphabet currently used but there was another Georgian script, the Nuskhuri alphabet, which was popular between the 9th and 11th century. In 2016, all Georgian scripts made it onto UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
